Hello, Marcus, from the USA. I know from our change of seasons that its a mad dash to do all you can during the nice weather. I especially enjoyed the fact that you didn't seem to do just one job. You alternated from tearing stuff down, To pruning your bushes and grassy areas, to painting your window frames. the floors are beautiful. Do you plan on staining them or painting them? I would do a mild stain. Do you live elsewhere and come and go to work on it? I would live there permanently, 😎 your doing a wonderful job!!

I don't know if you made the s-hook or you found it on the farm, but it's absolutely brilliant. The front door is really looking nice with the second coat of paint and the white trim. That has to feel good!

For mange år siden var jeg ved den lokale smed for at få slebet min le, da den ikke skar særlig godt. Smeden Børge så og mærkede på bladet, så på skaftet på mig med et smil. Det kan jeg godt forstå, sagde han. Bladet skal ikke slibes med hamres ud og bladet skal justeres rigtig. Han lagde le’en på gulvet og bad mig støtte foden på toppen af skafter, så slog han en streg på gulve ved den skarpe æg, hvor bladet er bredest, skubbede bladet som en passer, indtil spidsen af klingen var ud for stregen på gulvet. Se sagde han, at klingen er flere fingertykkelser længere fra stregen på gulvet. Dvs radius til klingen er større ved spidsen end ved skaftet. Det skal være omvendt. Radius skal være nogle fingertykkelser kortere ved klingespridsen end ved skaftet, ellers tager klingen for meget for og græsset kvæler svinget med le’en. Han hamrede klingen ud og hentede en ny le slibe stryge værktøj i træ med karborundum på, stillede le’en på skafter, så klingen var i brysthøjde og strøg klingen på begge sider af klinge æggen. Gik udenfor og viste mig, hvordan han svingede le’en, så klingen skar legende let i græsset. Kunsten er at lade le’en gøre arbejdet. Da jeg hjemme ville slå græsset under hegnstråden på fårefolden, troede jeg det ikke kunne passe, at den var så let at skære græsset af med. Det er lidt af en kunst at svinge le’en i en del-cirkelbevægelse uden at komme til at kvæle svinget med græsset, særligt i grovstænglet vegetation.

I've been watching you "paint" since you started this project. Do you guys not use primer on dry wood over there? Or is that red a stain? Seems to soak in quite a bit but that may be what you are going for? I'm in the U.S. and that looks very different to our practice. Been meaning to ask.
